Body contouring in Alpharetta
Body contouring devices address localized areas of fat or muscle tone in people who are already near their stable weight. It is not a weight-management treatment and we do not offer weight-management treatment. If you are looking to change the number on a scale, this is the wrong service and we will say so at the consultation rather than after you have paid for a package.

What it is
Energy-based body devices work on a discrete, marked area — a flank, the lower abdomen, beneath the chin — by delivering cooling, heat, or focused electromagnetic energy to the tissue underneath. The tissue responds over the following weeks, and the change is measured as a contour difference in that area rather than as anything systemic.
The two constraints worth stating plainly. First, the treated area is small and defined; nothing about the treatment affects tissue outside it. Second, the result is a change in shape in that area, at a stable body weight — if body weight changes materially afterwards, the surrounding tissue changes with it and the contour result changes too.
What it feels like
Varies by area and by modality: pulling and intense cold, or building heat, or strong involuntary muscle contraction. None of it is painful in a way people find intolerable, and all of it is strange the first time. Thirty to forty-five minutes per area, during which most people read.
Downtime
None to three days. Tenderness, numbness, or aching in the treated area for one to three days, and occasional bruising. Normal activity the same day.
How long it lasts
The contour change in the treated area holds at a stable body weight. It is not a substitute for diet, exercise, or medical care, and the change is confined to what was treated.
Who it’s for — and who it isn’t
A good fit
- Someone at or near a stable body weight with a defined, localized area that has not responded to anything else.
- Someone who has a specific area in mind rather than a general aim.
Not a fit
- Anyone whose aim is a change in body weight. That is not what this does, it is not a service we offer, and the consultation will end with us saying so rather than with a package.
- Anyone whose weight is currently changing in either direction. The result is defined relative to a stable baseline.
- Anyone expecting the result to appear immediately. The tissue response takes weeks, and a result assessed at two weeks is not a result.

What it costs
Priced per area and per session, quoted as a course because a single session rarely produces the change people are after. We give the course total at the consultation, and this is a treatment we decline to sell more often than most — usually because what the person actually wants is not what it does.
Questions about body contouring
Is this a treatment for changing my weight?
No. We do not offer weight-management treatment and we make no claims of that kind. This addresses localized areas in patients at or near a stable weight, it is not a substitute for diet, exercise or medical care, and it will not change your weight.
Who is a good candidate?
Someone close to their stable weight with a specific, localized area that has not responded to the things that usually work. Someone whose aim is general rather than local is a poor candidate, and we would rather establish that in the first ten minutes.
How many sessions and how long until I see anything?
Usually a course of two to six depending on the area and modality, and the tissue response takes six to twelve weeks to become visible. We photograph before and at the review so the comparison is measured rather than remembered.
Concerns this addresses
None, and that is not an omission. A concern is a question about why skin looks the way it does; this treatment does not answer one, which is why you will not find it under any of them.
